New Walter coating for the Xtreme Evo Plus DC180 Supreme drill

With the new Walter X Treme Evo Plus drill, Walter brings a new tool from the DC180 Supreme product line to the market. Thanks to Krato·tec™ coating technology, developed specifically for drilling tools, this cemented carbide drill bit has great market potential. Walter's proprietary grade WJ30EZ with multi-layer AlTiN coating enables maximum cutting speed and the drill can also be universally used in all ISO materials of groups P, M, K, N, S and H. Compared to other products on the market, the DC180 Supreme increases the service life by approximately 50 percent. The internally cooled drill can be used with both emulsion and oil or minimum quantity lubrication (MMS). Geometry with a straight cutting edge ensures high stability and process reliability. Walter offers the DC180 Supreme with Ø 3–20 mm for a wide range of applications.

As a standard design, Walter has the DC180 Supreme in the range with dimensions 3 × Dc (according to DIN 6537 short) and 5 × Dc (according to DIN 6537 long). Special intermediate tools and step drills are offered by this tool specialist through the Walter Xpress service with reduced lead times (up to three weeks). Walter Xtreme Evo Plus DC180 series drills are part of the Supreme product range. It is designed for high numbers of pieces and large volumes of drilling. Thanks to its high durability, productivity and wear resistance in demanding applications, the DC180 Supreme reduces costs and is particularly suitable for complicated machining of ISO M and S materials, for example in the aerospace industry. The tool is also suitable for use with a high number of holes, for example in the automotive and subcontracting industries. Other fields of application are general mechanical engineering, tool and mold production, and the energy industry.
